Wing Freedom Charging Basics

Many Wing Freedom configurations use a 36V lithium-ion battery system. A compatible 36V lithium-ion battery typically uses a 42V full charging voltage. Battery capacity can vary without changing the required charging voltage.

Battery System
36V
Type: Lithium-ion
Common capacities: vary by model
CyberPika: 36V Smart Charger
Full Charge Voltage
42V
For: 36V lithium-ion battery
Documented Wing setup: 42V / 2A
CyberPika: 42V / up to 4A
Charging Connector
Verify
Known setup: Special 3-pin
Other versions: may differ
Best practice: Compare actual port
Important: Battery voltage alone does not guarantee charger compatibility. A Wing bike can use the correct 36V battery system and still have a different charging connector. Always verify the physical charging port before ordering.

Why Wing Connector Verification Matters

Wing has sold several generations of the Freedom platform. Models may share similar names and electrical specifications while using different charging-port configurations.

Model Name
Identify whether you have a Freedom S, S2, Freedom 2, Freedom X, Freedom ST, Freedom Fatty, or another version.
Charging Port
Compare the actual connector shape and pin arrangement with photos in the model-specific guide.
Charger Label
Verify the output voltage printed on the original charger. For the documented 36V setup, the full charging output is 42V.

Wing Freedom Models in Our Compatibility Guide

The current Wing Freedom guide groups several closely related models together because they share the same basic 36V battery platform. Connector verification is still required for each bike.

Freedom S Freedom S2 Freedom 2 Freedom X Freedom ST Freedom Fatty
Scope note: Inclusion in the Freedom family does not mean every generation uses the same connector. The CyberPika Standard 3-Pin Adapter should only be used when your bike matches the verified 3-pin configuration shown in the model guide.

Wing E-Bike Charger FAQ

What voltage charger do Wing Freedom e-bikes use?

The Wing Freedom configurations documented in our compatibility guide use 36V lithium-ion battery systems and a 42V full charging voltage.

Do all Wing Freedom e-bikes use the same charger?

No. Models can share a 36V battery system while using different charging-port generations. The exact connector should always be verified.

What charger does the Wing Freedom S2 use?

The Freedom S2 setup documented by CyberPika uses a 36V battery system, a 42V charging output, and the compatible special 3-pin connection shown in our model guide.

Is the same charger compatible with Freedom 2 and Freedom X?

It can be when those bikes use the same verified 36V / 42V special 3-pin charging configuration. Because connector versions can differ, compare the actual charging port before ordering.

What if my Wing charging port does not have three pins?

Do not order the Standard 3-Pin Adapter based only on the model name. Send us a photo of your charging port and original charger label so we can help identify the correct setup.

Why does a 36V Wing battery use a 42V charger?

36V is the nominal battery voltage. A typical 36V lithium-ion battery reaches approximately 42V when fully charged, so the charger output is higher than the nominal battery rating.

Can I charge a compatible Wing e-bike to 80%?

Yes. On compatible Wing setups, the CyberPika Smart Charger lets you select 20%, 50%, 80%, or 100% charging and defaults to 80% Daily Mode.

How do I verify my Wing charger before ordering?

Check three things: your exact bike model, the charging-port shape and pin layout, and the output voltage printed on your original charger label.
