Ride1Up Roadster V2 & V3 Charger Compatibility Guide
Ride1Up Roadster V2 & V3 Charger Compatibility Guide
The CyberPika 36V Smart E-Bike Charger with built-in DC5521 connector is compatible with the Ride1Up Roadster V2 and Roadster V3 setups documented here.
Both Roadster generations use a 36V lithium-ion battery system and a 42V charging voltage. The Roadster V2 uses a 36V 7Ah battery, while the Roadster V3 uses a larger 36V 10Ah battery. The CyberPika 36V Smart Charger provides the compatible 42V charging voltage and connects directly through its built-in 5.5 × 2.1 mm DC barrel plug.
Compatibility has also been confirmed through customer use.

Why Does This Charger Work with the Ride1Up Roadster?
Choosing an e-bike charger requires matching both the electrical specifications and the charging connector.
Both the Roadster V2 and V3 use 36V lithium-ion battery systems. Ride1Up specifies a 42V charger for its 36V bikes, which is the correct full charging voltage for this battery platform.
The CyberPika 36V Smart Charger provides the same 42V charging voltage and connects through its built-in 5.5 × 2.1 mm DC barrel connector (DC5521).
CyberPika also lets you select 20%, 50%, 80%, or 100% charge targets depending on how you plan to ride or store the bike.
Roadster V2 vs. Roadster V3 Battery
| Feature | Roadster V2 | Roadster V3 |
|---|---|---|
| Battery voltage | 36V | 36V |
| Battery capacity | 7Ah | 10Ah |
| Approx. energy | 252Wh | 360Wh |
| Charging voltage | 42V | 42V |
| Compatible CyberPika voltage | 36V version | 36V version |
The Roadster V3 has a higher-capacity battery, but both generations remain 36V systems. Battery capacity affects range and charging time; it does not change the required 42V charging voltage.
Check the Charging Port on Your Roadster
DC barrel charging connectors can look nearly identical while using different inner diameters. Compare your Roadster charging port with the verified setup below before ordering.

Check for the compatible 42V charging output used with the 36V Roadster battery system.
If your original charger shows a substantially different output or your charging port looks different, send us photos before using a replacement charger.
Smart Charging for Everyday Roadster Use
You don't necessarily need to charge your Roadster to 100% after every ride. CyberPika gives you four selectable charging targets.
The CyberPika charger defaults to 80% Daily Mode, allowing partial charging without monitoring the battery and manually unplugging the charger.
Does It Work with Both Roadster V2 and V3?
Yes. The compatible CyberPika 36V charging setup documented here applies to both Roadster generations.
🛡️ Worry-Free Compatibility Guarantee
If the charger or connector doesn't work with your bike as expected, we'll help troubleshoot the setup and provide a compatible replacement or refund when appropriate.
If your charging port or original charger looks different from the examples above, send us your bike model, a photo of the charging port, and a photo of the original charger label . We'll help verify compatibility before you charge.

What voltage charger does the Ride1Up Roadster use?
The Roadster V2 and V3 use 36V lithium-ion battery systems. A compatible charger provides a 42V charging output.
What connector does the Ride1Up Roadster use?
The Roadster charging setup documented here uses a DC5521 barrel connection. CyberPika's built-in connector measures 5.5 mm outer diameter × 2.1 mm inner diameter.
Do I need an adapter for the Ride1Up Roadster?
No additional adapter is required when your Roadster uses the compatible DC5521 charging port shown on this page. The CyberPika charger already includes the DC5521 connector.
Is the Roadster V2 battery the same as the Roadster V3 battery?
No. The Roadster V2 uses a 36V 7Ah internal battery, while the Roadster V3 uses a larger 36V 10Ah / 360Wh removable battery. They are different battery assemblies even though both use a 36V electrical system.
Does the CyberPika charger work with both Roadster V2 and V3?
Yes. Compatibility has been customer-confirmed for the Roadster V2 and V3 charging setups documented here.
Can I charge my Ride1Up Roadster to 80%?
Yes. The CyberPika Smart Charger includes an 80% Daily Mode and defaults to this setting. You can switch to 100% when you need maximum available range.
Why does a 36V Roadster use a 42V charger?
36V is the nominal battery-system voltage. A typical 36V lithium-ion battery reaches approximately 42V when fully charged, which is why the compatible charger output is higher than the battery's nominal 36V rating.
